This college offers a Certified Nursing Assistant program that prepares students to sit for the state certification exam to join vocational nursing programs or work in hospitals, medical centers and other healthcare facilities. Trident School of Nursing 

Trident School of Nursing offers a 5-week long program that equips students with the necessary skills required for employment in hospitals, long-term care facilities and nursing homes. The school requires prospective candidates to have a high school diploma, undergo background check and drug screening, and provide proof of immunization and TB tests. This CNA program covers clinical rotations and classroom sessions, and costs about $1900 which covers CPR, live scans, registration, tuition, supplies, textbooks and other expenses. However, this amount does not cover the State certification exam fee. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the state exam.

This program focuses on creating punctual and professional nursing assistants who can provide basic care to people in long-term care facilities and hospitals. The program covers basic nursing care (dressing, bathing, feeding), basic medical terminology, anatomy, death and dying as well as health and safety procedures. It takes 28 days/100 hours for students to complete this CNA program which is taught by Licensed Vocational Nurses and Registered Nurses. Prospective students must be at least 16 years old. Goodwill SOLAC

This state-accredited institution offers an 11-week CNA program that consists of clinical and classroom sessions. This program prepares students to sit the State Nurse Assistant Competency exam. The curriculum covers communication, legal and ethical principles, medical terminology, patients’ rights, vital signs, patient care, work readiness and financial literacy. Other than taking an entrance interview, prospective students are required to be over 18 years old and they must pass an educational assessment test. Long Beach Job Corps Center

As a part of the U.S. Department of Labor, Job Corps Center provides several training programs including a nurse assistant program. To qualify for the program, you must be 16-24 years old, a legal resident or U.S. citizen and you must provide documentation to show that you come from a low-income household. The CNA program covers basic patient care, employability skills, ethics and law, physiology and medical terminology. Successful applicants earn a living allowance as they study. Upon graduation, students receive job placements and their fees for certification exams are paid by the school.
